Welcome to our NEW Nike Basketball Clinics in Pickering! Coach Lee and Miya Williams have created these advanced classes for experienced and advanced athletes aged  7 to 16 years of age. The curriculum being called HERSPACE is fast-paced, and focuses on game-specific repetition and decision-making incorporated into drills and gameplay. Coach Lee will be adding an experienced Mental Health and Addiction counselor, will include a weekly twenty-minute mental health session. The session is designed for children to learn about various aspects of mental health. Topics covered include building a coping toolbox, self-care, and the relevance of positive self-talk. Following each discussion, an activity will be held to reinforce the learning. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance mental health awareness and knowledge.

Coaches

Lee Williams

Lee Williams is currently an assistant coach at Ontario Tech University helping them with their 2023-2024 season.

Williams is also the co-founder of The Williams Duet Training.

Williams is a former Division One women’s basketball player who was recruited by Sheryl Swoopes to compete at Loyola University of Chicago (2016-2018). Williams graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While competing at a high level, Williams also assisted and facilitated many basketball camps.

Prior to LUC, Williams competed at Chattanooga State College (2015-2016) where she was awarded the Academic Tiger Pride Award for her outstanding GPA. Williams also competed at Pensacola State College (2014-2015) in the Panhandle Conference where she was awarded the Presidential and the Above the Rim awards.

 

Williams, along with her twin sister, ran Mega Hoop Clinics through Ontario Basketball with the MLSE LaunchPad and the Dwarf Association in the Greater Toronto Area where she helped many young athletes develop their basketball skills and fundamentals. Williams also was the head coach with the She Can Ball camps by Durham City Chameleons where Williams taught and developed many young ladies in the game.

 

Aside from coaching, Williams works as an addiction and mental health counsellor.

Miya Williams
Coach

Miya Williams is a former Division One women’s basketball player who is the Co-founder, and Head Trainer at The Williams Duet Training.

 

Williams, along with her twin sister, ran Mega Hoop Clinics through Ontario Basketball with the MLSE LaunchPad and the Dwarf Association in the Greater Toronto Area where she helped many young athletes develop their basketball skills and fundamentals.

 

Williams was recruited by Sheryl Swoopes to compete for their Women’s Basketball Team at Loyola University of Chicago Williams was awarded numerous academic and keys from the University for Community Service and Engagement. Williams also was the representative for all student athletes for LUC at the National Jesuit Student Leadership Program. Williams graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Marketing.

 

Prior to Loyola University Chicago, Williams competed on the Women’s Basketball Team at Chattanooga State Community College where she graduated with her Associate of Science degree.

 

As a freshman, Williams competed in the Panhandle conference at Pensacola State Community College. Williams was awarded with the Panhandle Conference All-Academic Team award for maintaining above a 3.5 GPA.

All atheles will be challenged mentally and physically to grow their understanding and skills in the game of basketball. A particular focus will be placed on shooting, attacking the defence, and game scenarios in regard to creating and using space.
