SKILL LEVELS
Introductory Level
If you have just started playing the game
Master fundamental movement skills while enhancing overall motor skills. Engage in basketball sessions once or twice a week, with daily involvement in other sports activities being crucial for continued progress. Embrace group skill competitions as a valuable part of the program. At this stage, participants are introduced to essential team principles and concepts, with a deliberate focus on postponing full-scale 5x5 competition until fundamental skills are firmly established and honed..
Foundational Level
If you have experience and need to establish fundamental skills
Acquire a strong foundation in all essential basketball-specific skills, laying the groundwork for a well-rounded basketball skill set. The majority of the training, 70%, is dedicated to individual fundamental development, with only 30% devoted to live game competition. While introducing position concepts, player positions remain unassigned throughout this phase. The competition segment is divided between specialized games (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, skill-based games) and 5x5 gameplay, with an emphasis on postponing extensive 5x5 competition until later stages of the program.
Advanced Level
If you play on travel, middle school or high school teams
Establish a solid aerobic foundation, gradually increase strength towards the latter part of this phase and continue refining basketball skills comprehensively. Cultivate the fundamental "engine" while reinforcing basketball abilities. In the initial stages of this level, the focus allocates 60% of time to individual training and 40% to competition, which includes 5x5 gameplay, specialized games (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, skill-based games), and team-oriented practices. As players progress and master their skills, there is flexibility to transition to a 50:50 training to competition ratio, and positions can be assigned accordingly.
Performance Level
For the highest-level playing resources
Enhance overall fitness and readiness for competition, while also refining individual and position-specific skills. Fine-tune the core skills and performance capabilities that drive success. During this phase, the focus shifts towards recognizing that the competition aspect encompasses team-oriented practices and other specialized preparations.
