Exciting news for young tennis enthusiasts! Nike Tennis Camp at Don Mills Tennis Club is coming to North York in 2025, offering an engaging and skill-building experience for kids aged 4 to 15. Conveniently located at Leslie and York Mills, this summer camp runs weekly from June 30 to August 29, 2025, with both full-day and half-day options.

Led by head coach Rohan Punj and a team of experienced instructors, our camp blends expert coaching, match play, and dynamic drill sessions with fun multi-sport activities. Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or refining their competitive skills, this program provides the perfect mix of tennis training, fitness, and summer fun in a supportive environment.

Zach Budd is an experienced and passionate sports coach, serving as the director of Nike Sports Camps Toronto and a dedicated tennis coach. With a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to athlete development, Zach has become a respected figure in the sports community.

As the Nike Sports Camp Director, Zach oversees a variety of sports programs, ensuring high-quality coaching and a fun, supportive environment for athletes of all skill levels. His leadership extends across multiple sports, where he directs and supervises camps that focus on skill-building, teamwork, and personal growth.

In addition to tennis, Zach also directs camps for the following sports:

  • Pickleball

Camp Programs and Age Groups

Beginner Tennis (All Ages)

Perfect for beginners, this program focuses on recreational tennis instruction using compression tennis balls for easier play. Campers will also participate in fun activities like:

  • Soccer
  • Pickleball
  • Dodgeball

This program emphasizes physical literacy, helping young athletes develop fundamental movement skills that support long-term athletic success.

Skills Development Tennis (Ages 7–15)

Ideal for low-intermediate and advanced players, this program includes:

  • Tennis-Specific Drills: Improve footwork, agility, and speed.
  • Match Play & Strategy: Practice point-play situations to build game skills.
  • Multi-Sport Fun: Campers enjoy a variety of additional sports and games during the week.

Age Groups for Skills Development Tennis:

  • Ages 7–9
  • Ages 10–12
  • Ages 13–15

High-Performance Camp Dates (Ages 10-17)

The High-Performance Tennis Camp will be offered during three exclusive weeks:

Times: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

  • Week 1: July 14–18, 2025
  • Week 2: July 28–August 1, 2025
  • Week 3: August 11–15, 2025

Spots for this program are limited to ensure personalized attention and maximum improvement.
Training takes place from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm each day, campers are invited to stay and participate in the regular tennis camp or be picked up.

  • Dates: Weekly camps from June 30 to August 29, 2025
  • Age Group: Co-ed, 4–15 years old
  • Camp Type: Full-day and half-day options

    • Full-Day: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
    • Morning Half-Day: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Afternoon Half-Day: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Check-In: Opens 15 minutes before camp start time

Additional Information

  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Campers should bring a lunch and snack each day.
  • Skill Levels: Suitable for beginner to high-performance players.
  • Extended Care:
    • Morning: 8:15 AM – 9:00 AM
    • Afternoon: 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
    • Fee: $65 + HST per week (morning or afternoon care) or $110 + HST for both.

FAQs

1. Is lunch provided?
No, campers must bring their own lunch and snacks.

2. What happens in bad weather?
We will wait out the rain in the club house, this camp is primarily outdoor only, if it is calling for rain all day, we will offer a rain day make-up class or credit for future use

3. Can I register for multiple weeks?
Yes! Families can sign up for one or multiple weeks.


RED BALL

Learn the fundamentals. Proper grip and swing fundamentals, tennis vocabulary, intro to scoring, groundstrokes recognition, hand-eye coordination. Mini tennis equipment and red balls are used to ensure optimal success.

ORANGE BALL

Further skill development and acquisition of new skills through a game-based approach. Fundamental movement skills, strong emphasis on cooperative play.

GREEN BALL

Combination of Tennis specific drills, point play situations. Footwork, agility and speed development.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.
