Nike Soccer Camp at Milton Lion Sports Park

Campers are invited to join Nike Soccer Camp in Milton at Lion Sports Park this summer 2024. Boys and girls ages 7-15 will be a part of a premier soccer camp where the young athletes can improve their skills and learn tactical and technical soccer gameplay from our expert coaches.

Campers will work on developing the techniques and fundamentals of soccer through specialized, age-appropriate drills and game-based play. Each day features a new theme and technique to help kids at all levels develop their soccer skills.

Nike Soccer Camp in Milton includes instruction from Certified Soccer Coaches lead by David Benning- Technical Director of Milton Youth Soccer who will provide campers with tools to improve their ball control and passing, gain more confidence attacking and defending, and continue to learn more about the beautiful game of soccer.

Daily Instruction from Certified Coaches
Technical training: ball control, first touch, passing and shooting
Tactical training: combination play, 1v1 attacking and defending, team defending
Every camper receives Nike Sports Camp T-shirt, Soccer Ball and other Nike Prizes

David Benning
Head Coach

David brings an illustrious track record of success to the Nike Soccer Camp program. Currently the Technical Director of Milton Magic Soccer Club, David has a wealth of experience in various coaching roles, including positions with League 1 at Pickering FC, the University of Waterloo, and Seneca College. As the Technical Programs Manager at Canada Soccer from 2003 to 2013, he expertly managed national training centers across the country and served as the Head Coach of the U15 Women's National Team. His significant contributions to the U17 Women's National Team, including serving as Assistant Coach during the 2012 U17 Women's World Cup in Azerbaijan where they reached the quarterfinals, further underscore his coaching prowess.


David's extensive experience in developing players at all levels ensures that the camp provides a competitive and enriching environment. His coaching career spans various levels and genders, from grassroots programs to provincial and National Teams. His tenure at the University of Waterloo and Seneca College saw him lead teams to impressive results, and his expertise extends across multiple divisions, including OSL, CPSL, and League 1 Men's and Women's divisions.


David holds an array of prestigious credentials, including a CSA National 'A' License, CSA Youth & Children License, Technical Director Diploma, and Learning Facilitator License. These qualifications, combined with his extensive experience, equip him to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and growth within the camp. Assisting David will be Anthony Alfieri from Queen’s University, Teagan Handley and Michela Ionadi both playing for ProStars League 1 team. Michela will be heading to Italy this September to play professionally.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SOCCER: Player Development is for campers ages 7-15 of all skill levels. These camps are designed to maximize player participation and ensure each camper develops in all aspects of the game. Coaches will implement a wide range of technical, physical, and tactical activities with a focus on fun so campers get to improve with a smile on their faces. Soccer will be the main focus of this camp, but participants will also have time to enjoy the multi-sport programming throughout the week.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

REGISTRATION PACKET

A detailed camper registration packet containing check-in location, camp specifics, and a list of things to bring, will be emailed to all campers prior to their camp date.  If you have any questions/inquiries please email info@sportscampscanada.com.
