905 March Break Nike Basketball Camp at Newton's Grove Mississauga

Nike Basketball Camp at Newton's Grove School has joined forces with Raptors 905 to offer the best mix of fundamental and elite skills training while fostering a safe, inclusive, competitive, and fun environment. The co-ed camp is for players ages 7 - 15 of all skill levels and runs from March 10-14, 2025.

Our coaches have extensive experience working with youth of all ages and levels of play which will bring the best out of all participants. Athletes will be grouped by age and skill level to ensure that they are in the most optimal learning environment.

This camp is a concentrated experience designed to accelerate the learning process through outstanding instruction, skill development, situational training, and competition simulation. Participants learn to improve their footwork, dribbling, passing, and shooting through exciting drills, games and activities. This year we have built our programing to include some guest speakers on themes such as mental health, financial literacy of all levels, continuing education and more.

Jason Faulknor
Head Coach

Jason Faulknor is a certified teacher, former NCAA Division 1 athlete, and founder of the globally recognized apparel brand, Spread Love. With a degree in Advertising and Marketing from Bradley University, Jason excelled as a professional basketball player, representing teams in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia, as well as competing internationally for Canada and Jamaica’s national teams.

After an extensive athletic career, Jason transitioned into education, teaching students and training coaches through the Jr. NBA program across 95 schools in India and later supporting youth programs during NBA All-Star weekends in New York. His passion for youth development drives his teaching, mentorship, and community outreach.

Jason’s brand, Spread Love, champions kindness and leadership, working with schools, charities, and Fortune 500 companies to create positive social impact. Through initiatives like Spread Love Fridays, he empowers students to build confidence, speak out against bullying, and foster inclusive communities.

Whether on the court or in the classroom, Jason is dedicated to helping the next generation thrive.

Scott Wheler
Camp Director

Coach Wheler has coached basketball for over 20 years in numerous capacities and at a variety of schools. As a result, of his many years of experience in coaching both girls and boys teams of all abilities, he knows what it takes to develop the skills necessary to improve each player’s individual skill sets. This coupled with his personal love of the game, propels him to bring out the best in every athlete.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.
